Casa de Esperanza's mission is to strive to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect for at-risk infants, children and their families by providing comprehensive residential and family support programs that transform people and communities.
Our Values

Education: We are committed to inspire and teach our community and future generations the value of protecting the most vulnerable.
Support: Services are provided at no cost to our families, through the generosity of our supporters, and without government funding.
Company History
In 1982, Kathy Foster and Bill Jones established Casa de Esperanza de los Ninos (which means, the “House of Hope for Children”) as a safe place for children in crisis due to abuse or neglect. Casa’s first home was opened with an initial donation of $500.00. This began a lifelong dedication to ensuring that children at risk were kept safe from abuse and neglect, and Casa de Esperanza was formed. From the first house in Houston’s Third Ward, Casa de Esperanza has grown into a trauma-informed, integrative program with a gated neighborhood of 10 homes near the Texas Medical Center and numerous community foster families.
For forty years Casa de Esperanza has provided safety for more than 6,500 abused, neglected and at-risk infants and young children in the greater Houston area. Casa offers a unique service in the Houston area, providing emergency and voluntary foster placements for infants and young children, up to six years old, without charge to the family or placing agency. Casa is one of the only agencies in Houston able to provide specialized care for infants and young children with complex medical needs and/or exposure to HIV/AIDS. Our comprehensive Family Support Services program is available for families as long as they need us; ensuring children have a permanent stable home.
The agency is a privately funded, non-profit agency governed by a board of directors comprised of respected professionals in the community. We raise the entire operating budget annually from private sources. No fees are charged for services. Casa de Esperanza accepts no government or public money, nor is it affiliated with the United Way®.
